Job Description

Join the innovative Miway Actuarial: Rewards team, where we are committed to creating a market leading rewards programme that benefits our clients and our company. We go beyond the scope of traditional actuarial work and use our actuarial and statistical knowledge in new ways to price, reserve for and monitor our rewards programme. The deliverables for this role will often come without step-by-step instructions but will rely on the team’s resourcefulness and resilience to achieve success. 

Minimum Qualification

•    Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science

What will make you successful in this role?

Minimum Experience
•    2 Years in an actuarial field
Deliverables include, but will not be limited to
•    Model Development and Optimisation: You will play a key role in the creation and refinement of models for rewards pricing, reserving, actual vs expected analysis, and forecasting.
•    Monitoring and feedback: Once the reward programmes are designed and launched, you will play the lead role in monitoring its benefits for our clients and for Miway. You will use your modelling skills to create efficient, automated reporting and monitoring systems. You will use this data to inform our forecasting model and provide management information using software such as Power BI.
•    Stakeholder engagement: As part of monitoring and maintenance, you will engage with various internal teams, especially the Miway development team, helping them to design and test new features. 
•    Data Management with Python and SQL: Utilize Python and SQL (Oracle and MS SQL Server) to build and maintain robust data tables and infrastructure.

•    Agility and Adaptability: The ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities is vital. You should be agile and flexible, capable of shifting focus in response to evolving business requirements.

•    Collaborative and Independent Work Ethic: While you should be capable of working autonomously, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative, you must also be an effective team player, able to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to group projects.

•    Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for liaising with various stakeholders, explaining complex ideas clearly, and documenting work processes.

Work Location
The Miway Actuarial team is based primarily in Kosmosdal, Centurion. Permanent remote working will be considered.
