Purpose of the Role

Join MiWay's Actuarial department in the recently established expense function. This team is responsible for scientific expense pricing, expense reporting as well as ad hoc investigations into expense matters. This is an exciting opportunity that requires engagement with many stakeholders in order to understand how money is spent and then feed this data back into pricing. 

Overview of Role Responsibilities

•    Analyse company expenses to gain management insights 
•    Analyse and recommend initiatives to reduce the expense ratio 
•    Model expenses to inform office premium pricing
•    Produce and automate monthly expense reports
•    Management of a small team of expense actuarial analysts including priority and workload management, review and sign-off of changes. 
•    Note that due to the small team size, this role will still be very hands-on.

High Risk Typologies Methodologies - Fully Competent
Works with full competence to identify and analyze patterns in high-risk financial activities and typologies, understanding the financial crimes risks posed by various high-risk activities and instruments such as money services businesses, payments companies, virtual currencies, cash intensive businesses, hedge and private equity funds, foreign correspondence banking, non-operating companies and payroll service companies. Typically works without supervision and may provide technical guidance.

Manages Resistance - Fully Competent
Works with full competence to identify, address, and navigate opposition or reluctance effectively, fostering a collaborative environment and facilitating positive outcomes in the face of resistance. Typically works without supervision and may provide technical guidance.

Review and Reporting - Fully Competent
Works with full competence to create reports, and review reports created by others, for various audiences as relevant, in a lucid and effective manner, keeping in mind the purpose of reports. Typically works without supervision and may provide technical guidance.

General Experience

•    4 Years in a related field 
•    1 Year in expense analysis

Education

•    Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Pure/Applied Mathematics or related field
