What will you do?

We are seeking a highly analytical, inquisitive, and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our dynamic analytics team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for getting actionable business insights from our data that drives strategic decision-making across the organization. As a key partner to our department heads and executive leadership, you will bridge the gap between technical data and business operational needs, ensuring that our data-driven initiatives yield tangible improvements in efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The role will entail predominantly working independently with one of the key operational business units and acting as their go-to data analyst and support.

Minimum Requirements

Qualification Required
•    Bachelor’s degree in mathematical Statistics, Information Management, Data science, Actuarial science, or related quantitative field

 

Minimum Experience


•    5+ Years experience in data management & analytics within an operational environment
•    Industry expertise: Demonstrable experience providing analytical support to the operational environment of the Short-Term Insurance or broader Financial Services industry.

Deliverables

The Data analyst will act as one of the key translators for business to bridge the gap between business needs and implementable data solutions. Key deliverables include:

 

Technical data operations

•    Data collection and extraction: Design and execute complex SQL queries to extract data from various internal databases and third-party platforms to support ongoing business requirements.
•    Statistical analysis: Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets using statistical methods to provide a clear understanding of business performance.
•    Process optimization: Support the implementation and maintenance of operational processes aimed to improve operational efficiency.
•    Data investigations: Provide support to business in doing data investigations to uncover the reason behind observed trends in the reports and providing recommendations for corrections

 

Visualization and Reporting

•    Visualization design: Create and maintain dynamic, interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs).
•    Performance monitoring: Proactively monitor dashboards for data anomalies, system performance issues, or incorrect metrics, and resolve technical discrepancies in a timely manner.
•    Focus area: Strategic collaboration
Beyond technical execution, the Data analyst is expected to function as a consultant to internal teams. This involves translating complex technical findings into "business-speak" for non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that data insights are not only understood but effectively applied to drive business strategy.

 

Stakeholder engagement and collaboration

•    Strategic business unit partner: The data analyst is expected to be the main business partner in supporting the operational data insight needs of their business unit. The analyst is expected to work from the location of their respective business unit and be present on the floor (i.e. the role is not remote).
•    Cross-functional support: Collaborate closely with departments to understand their specific data needs and provide tailored analytical support for their initiatives.
•    Presenting findings: Deliver clear, concise presentations to management and relevant stakeholders, effectively communicating analytical insights, risks, and recommended actions.
•    Continuous improvement: Regularly evaluate existing analytical workflows and suggest improvements or new methodologies to enhance the speed, accuracy, and depth of business insights provided to the leadership team.
