Qualification and Experience

Degree or Diploma with up to 2 years related experience.

What will make you successful in this role?

Result Areas
•    Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded and ensuring integrity of all accounts.
•    Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
•    Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
•    Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
•    Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned.
•    Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
•    Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
•    Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
•    Assist with other accounting projects.
•    Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations and company policies.
•    Assist with audits, tax filings and other financial compliance requirements.
•    Provide support and guidance to departments on financial matters.
•    Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, policies and regulations.
•    Other ad hoc related matters.

Requirements
•    Qualifications (ACA, ACCA, SAIPA or CIMA)
•    Minimum 2-3 years post qualification experience
•    Proven experience as a junior accountant and/or bookkeeper
•    Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations and financial reporting standards
•    Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
•    Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
•    Excellent organizing abilities
•    Great attention to detail
•    Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
•    Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
•    Proficiency in Microsoft excel and accounting software.
•    Analytical and problem-solving
