What will you do?

The Learning Design Intern will support the Learning & Development team in designing, developing, and maintaining engaging, learner-centred training materials. The intern will gain hands-on experience in digital learning tools and content creation while contributing to impactful learning initiatives that enhance employee capability and performance

Application Criteria

  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years
  • Must be South African Citizens
  • Must be unemployed (Interns must have less than 6 months previous employment for consideration)
  • Should not have been on an internship with INSETA before
  • Must have a completed relevant qualification a degree or diploma

Qualification

Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree or diploma in any of the below:
•    Instructional Design
•    Education 
•    Multimedia Design
•    Learning & Development

Key Responsibilities

•    Assist in designing and developing learning materials (e-learning modules, facilitator guides, learner workbooks, assessments, etc.).
•    Support the development of multimedia learning resources, including presentations, infographics, and videos.
•    Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to collect and structure content.
•    Research to identify effective learning strategies and new design trends.
•    Maintain learning resources and update content as needed
•    Upload, help with quality assurance and test courses on the Learning Management System (LMS).
•    Support with course evaluations, learner feedback collection, and improvement recommendations.
•    Participate in team brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for learning interventions.

Skills and Competencies

•    Familiarity with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Canva, Vyond, or similar is an advantage.
•    Comfortable using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
•    Understanding of Learning Management Systems (Moodle) is an advantage.
•    Creative and detail-oriented with an eye for design.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
•    Eagerness to learn and take initiative.
•    Collaborative mindset and ability to work in a team environment.
