What will you do?
The Litigation Assistant Advisor is responsible for providing crucial administrative and operational support to the legal litigation team. This role ensures the smooth and efficient handling of administrative tasks related to MiWay's legal claims portfolio, helping to manage inboxes, process payments, handle queries, and assist with various audit and reporting functions. The position is vital for maintaining organizational efficiency and supporting the legal team in mitigating risk.

Minimum Qualification Required
• Grade 12/ NQF Level 4
• A Paralegal Diploma, Legal Assistant Certificate, or a related qualification (NQF Level 5 or higher) is advantageous.
• Alternatively, relevant experience in a legal or insurance claims environment will be strongly considered.
Minimum Experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative or support role within a law practice or an insurance claims department.
• Experience with legal billing, client communication, and managing administrative legal processes is advantageous.
Key Resonsibilities
• Query Management: Handle ad-hoc queries including Acknowledgement of Debt (AOD) questions, requests for
additional claims information, outstanding invoices, general emails from legal firms, and troubleshooting system issues.
• Financial Administration: Assist with clearing the disbursement list and processing payments for legal firms in a
timely manner.
• Inbox and Correspondence Management: Actively manage and monitor the settlement, liability, and correspondent
accounts inboxes, ensuring all communications are attended to promptly.
• Audits and Tracers: Provide support for internal audits and manage the process for tracers as required by the
legal team.
• Client Service: Serve as a point of contact for client complaints, addressing issues professionally and escalating them
to the appropriate manager when necessary.
• Reporting: Assist in compiling and distributing progress reports to support the Litigation Manager.
Knowledge and Skills
• Strong understanding of administrative processes within a legal or insurance environment.
• Familiarity with basic legal and insurance terminology.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
• Problem-solving skills for handling routine queries and system issues.
