About the role
MiWay is seeking an innovative and results-oriented Organisational Development Specialist to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future of our organisation by:
Driving Operational Excellence:
- Enhancing operational efficiency through the implementation of planned change initiatives.
Fostering Talent Development:
- Developing and implementing effective learning and development programmes, leveraging learning technologies and engaging learning communications.
- Ensuring talent development aligns with business objectives.
Strategic Talent Management:
- Conducting comprehensive organisational assessments to identify current and future talent needs.
- Designing, planning, and implementing impactful learning interventions (both in-class and online).
- Developing and managing learning communication strategies and processes.
- Identifying and implementing appropriate learning technologies.
Leadership Development:
- Supporting leadership development initiatives.
Data Analysis and Insights:
- Analysing data to identify trends, measure program effectiveness, and make data-driven recommendations.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborating effectively with various departments across the organisation.
Change Management:
- Facilitating and supporting organisational change initiatives.
Role Responsibilities
• Conducting organisational assessments to identify areas where the organisation could improve its performance, culture, or structure.
• Developing and implementing training programmes to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
• Facilitating change management efforts, including communications and training.
• Designing and implementing performance management programmes to ensure that employees are meeting performance standards and goals.
• Coaching managers and employees on leadership and teamwork.
• Analysing data and creating reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborating with other departments to ensure that the organisation is aligned with its mission and goals.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the organisation and help it adapt to changes in the market and industry.
• Writing clear, measurable, and achievable learning objectives.
• Selecting and applying appropriate instructional methods (e.g., classroom, online, blended learning, simulations, case studies).
• Designing and developing engaging and effective learning materials (e.g., presentations, workbooks, eLearning modules, videos).
• Designing and implementing formative and summative assessments to measure learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
• Proficient in utilising learning technologies (e.g., LMS, authoring tools, video conferencing, virtual classrooms).
• Designing inclusive learning experiences that accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
Key responsibilities
- Assessing the development needs of all operational, business, and functional units, as well as evaluating and overseeing the implementation of organisational development strategies and processes.
- Leading the design, development and implementation of programmes, policies and strategies customised to fulfil organisational development needs and achieve programme objectives.
- Measuring the achievement of established goals.
- Supporting individual development plans for executives and emerging leaders.
- Offering comprehensive consultation services to employees at all levels around policies, procedures, conflict resolution, problem-solving, compliance, and litigation prevention.
- Consulting with management on performance, organisational and leadership matters.
- Managing performance reviews and feedback programmes and coaching managers on the performance review process and the appropriate feedback, language, and documentation they should use.
- Assessing and collaborating with management to address interpersonal and work-related issues, and consulting with supervisors and managers to identify suitable mediation approaches, such as coaching, skill programmes, etc.
- Collecting and evaluating input from all organisational levels regarding noteworthy accomplishments, areas for advancement, highlights, and concerns.
Qualification
- Minimum NQF7 or equivalent qualification in HR/HRD OR ETDP qualification
Experience
- Learning & Development/HRD & experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities for the role.
- Experience in L&D Project management, Organisational Design as well as Change Management.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as an OD specialist in a related industry.
- Minimum 2 year working knowledge of authoring tools (Articulate/Storyline)
- Experience in administering an LMS.
