Santam has a career opportunity for a Business Analyst in our Business Process Optimisation (BPO) team who will be based in Cape Town or Johannesburg.  The BPO team provides Customer Engagement Solutions (Microsoft Dynamics 365), Process Improvement (Lean Six Sigma and Simulation), Process Automation (UiPath and AI) solutions to business units within Santam. The successful candidate will predominately perform his/her tasks within the Dynamic365 environment but may be required to assist the other areas as well. 



  • Consult with business units to identify business problems and opportunities through the data analysis, observation and investigation 
  • Assist with conceptualization, proposal of solution and business case development
  • Analyse and decompose relevant business processes and understand the impact on business 
  • Elicit, analyse, document and maintain business requirements and functional specifications
  • Administration, planning and organizing of work to ensure successful and on time delivery
  • Align project outcomes with business strategy and solution governance 
  • Align with D365 Consultant and Business Architect on proposed solutions
  • On ad-hoc basis, investigate production incidents and change requests to identify solutions and work with development teams to implement solutions
  • Provide support to and collaborate with project management, change management, training, design, development and testing competencies 
  • Stay current on industry practices and trends in the short term insurance and financial services in general and contribute innovative ideas for the use of technology and improvement of processes



  • Business or Commerce, Engineering or Information Systems degree is mandatory
  • Business Analyst Certification is mandatory with 5 years’ experience
  • Proven track record of workshop facilitation and communication with stakeholders both internal and external and at different levels of the organization is mandatory
  • Experience with working in an agile environment e.g., scrum at scale, managing product backlogs and writing user stories is essential 
  • Experience in Business Process Improvement methodologies like Lean Six Sigma, Process/ Operational Excellence, Simulation advantageous
  • Understand the use of process modeling methodologies and tools 
  • Knowledge of Contact Centre operations is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform is advantageous 
  • Experience in the financial services or short term insurance industry is advantageous
  • Experience in Operations Management principles is advantageous
