What will you do?

Santam’s Finance Solutions IT Team is looking for a Senior JD Edwards (JDE) System Analyst with Reinsurance background, the position will be based at the Head Office in Bellville.
The incumbent will work as part of our Finance Solutions IT team and will be responsible for systems and business analysis within the financial domain of the Santam IT landscape. Knowledge of the JDE ERP system will be critical as well as a good understanding of Reinsurance business processes.
The successful candidate will work with Senior JDE Developers and Testers to deliver business value within strategic projects and business change request domains.
• Understands how the business requirements can be met using the implemented package solutions, or defines bespoke solutions within the ERP eco system
• Facilitates the design and configuration of Financial Systems application systems and software by engaging with Business, Solution Architects and Developers
• Able to engage with Functional components of the ERP system to leverage inherent capabilities and demonstrate built in business processes to financial community
• Drive the usage of “out of the box” ERP capabilities
• Document processes in applicable Tools and keep up to date
• Maintain Reinsurance knowledge base within Finance Solutions 
• Contribute to ERP technical leadership team
• Work as a team member with Solution and Business Architects to ensure applications are implemented according to requirements.
• Identification of potential risks / issues and give input into risk plan
Generic Functions

• Ensure that the Financial Systems solutions are aligned to Finance ERP best practise and Santam architecture strategies in support of Santam Strategies
• Provide advice and consultancy across the project team on the above strategies and architecture
• Participate in reviews and provide guidance to teams to ensure that the architecture principles are followed and strategies are supported
• Establish and participate in design reviews, regular architectural reviews and technical issue management meetings within initiatives assigned
• Ensure that designs are optimised and aligned to ERP best practice
• Provide support to other members of the Development Team and members of the Project Management team as required
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the internal workings of software packages in the financial domain
• Work effectively in a team with Solution Architects, Business Architects and Lead developers to consider design alternatives and agree on appropriate design decisions in support of business requirements
Quality Assurance
• Review agreed implementation to ensure correct interpretation of the requirements,  architecture and strategies
• Ensure there is adequate testing of configuration or bespoke development.
• Facilitate and lead the quality assurance processes for design and development to ensure the ongoing integrity of the Financial domain

What will make you successful in this role?


• Relevant Tertiary IT qualification or qualification through experience
• At least 15 years IT  delivery experience
• At least 15 years ERP or Financial System configuration experience
• Expert Knowledge of ERP and/or Financial Systems
• Application of IT governance principles
• Experience in application development, support and release management
• Experience in process documentation in relevant Tools
• Experience in systems development upper life cycle quality assurance
• Oracle JDE Experience required
• Experience on strategic projects and business change requests
• Strong problem solving and technical skills
