The team is responsible for general administration of Retirement Fund investments and disinvestments into pooled investment products. Duties include liaising with Retirement Fund Administrators, Investment Managers (Sanlam Investments) and the Pricing Manager (Curo).

Main responsibilities
  • Maintain the Investment Administration platform
  • Create, maintain and close client records
  • Deal with various client queries
  • Perform checks on investments and ensures that the bank statement and instructions correspond
  • Process investments, disinvestments, transfers and switches
  • Request Audit and Investments Statements and reconcile and balance when necessary
  • Load bonuses, funding levels, portfolio split fees, PEN interest rate, share price and daily prices when required
  • Accounting inputs (Journals) and investigate reconciliations
  • Payment Processes (rejections, cash focus, stop payments, cheques etc.)
  • Report on Sanlam Investment Management (SIM) cashflows and request approval from Portfolio Manager
  • Provide investment administration statistics to the Manager on a monthly basis
  • Request SA Reserve Bank, Regulation 28 reporting information and compile reports when necessary
  • Formulate business requirements for system development or requests (communicate with IT resources)
  • Perform user-acceptance testing (UAT) when required
  • Update the SEB Investment Administration training manuals and / or training of staff when required
Qualification and experience
  • Must have achieved a C sympbol in Matric Maths or Accounting on Higher Grade (compulsory)
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the Financial Services industry (compulsory)
  • Previous experience within the unit trust / unit pricing, and / or Employment Benefit industry (advantageous)
  • Experience in business analysis and testing (advantageous)
