Who are we?
Sanlam Group Technology is responsible for the provision of a digitally enabled technology service as a group COE, drive business and transformation and provide group-wide digital and data architecture. We operate the various technology platforms and shared services, ensure Cyber and Information Security resilience, and act as technology governance and risk orchestrator for technology across Sanlam.
What will you do?
As an Application Architect you will be responsible for the technical leadership of developers and development of applications in the team. You will be responsible for the full SDLC of the application including development, maintenance, improvement and performance tuning of the applications.
What will make you successful in this role?
- Support the full stack development of projects from concept, technical design through deployment emphasizing scalable and maintainable code.
- Full stack development – optimize existing back-end and front-end systems for performance and scalability.
- Optimize application performance for handling high volume of data.
- SQL queries optimization and performance tuning
- Construct robust and scalable back-end services and APIs using efficient data handling and seamless integration with front-end components.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms
- Research and evaluate new technologies, frameworks and tools to determine their suitability for the project or organization.
- Ensure that solutions adhere to security standards and best practices, addressing data protection, access controls and regulatory requirements.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
Qualification
- Matric
- IT diploma or Computer Science degree
- TOGAF Enterprise Architecture
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience as full stack developer and application architect.
- Experience in deploying and managing applications in the cloud environment (AWS, Azure)
- Experience in SOAP UI, RESTful APIs, GIT, XSD, XML, XL Release, XL Deploy and JIRA.
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to design scalable, resilient and high-performing architecture solutions that meet business requirements.
- Conceptualize potential solutions against business need.
- Knowledge and application of the system development life cycle methodology.
- Improve the speed, efficiency, scalability, and overall performance characteristics of a system or application.
- Agile methodology
- C#, .Net Framework, ASP.NET, Windows Services, MS SQL Server, SISS, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Angular, React and Strong in object-oriented programming.
- API design, a solid understanding of the integration layer concept and API gateways, data formats and protocols, authentication and authorisation, system analysis and design.
