The Sanlam Life and Savings Office provides strategic direction, coordination and support to the four clusters, as well as performing governance oversight that includes assurance provided by second line of defense functions in SLS, to enable us to meet our business objectives.
What will you do?
The D365 Developer (Senior) designs, develops, configures, and supports Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions across the SLS ecosystem. The role focuses on building scalable, secure, and maintainable business solutions using Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Power Apps, Power Automate, Custom Pages, JavaScript, and C# extensions.
Working under the direction of the Technical Lead, the role translates business and solution requirements into high-quality platform implementations while promoting the use of out-of-the-box capabilities before custom development. The role contributes to engineering excellence through code reviews, technical mentoring, adherence to development standards, and support of modern ALM and CI/CD practices.
The successful candidate will help drive platform sustainability, solution quality, and continuous improvement while enabling business teams to maximize value from Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform.

Role Requirements:
Solution Development & Platform Engineering
- Design, develop, and configure Dynamics 365 and Dataverse solutions.
- Build and maintain Model-Driven Apps, Power Apps, and Custom Pages.
- Configure forms, views, dashboards, business rules, business process flows, and security models.
- Develop reusable platform components and solution accelerators.
- Ensure solutions align to enterprise architecture standards and Power Platform best practices.
Custom Development & Extensibility
- Develop and maintain Dynamics 365 Plugins using C# and .NET.
- Build and consume Custom APIs and Custom Actions.
- Create JavaScript-based client-side customisations.
- Extend Dynamics 365 functionality using supported extensibility frameworks.
- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
Integration & Data Services
- Implement integrations between Dynamics 365 and internal or external applications.
- Consume and expose REST APIs and Dataverse services.
- Support integration patterns using Azure services where required.
- Assist with data migration and synchronisation initiatives.
- Collaborate with architects and integration teams to deliver scalable and supportable solutions.
Platform ALM & Deployments
- Manage managed and unmanaged solution deployments across environments.
- Support CI/CD processes and automated deployment pipelines.
- Apply Power Platform ALM practices and environment governance standards.
- Maintain source control, branching strategies, and release documentation.
- Participate in environment management and release planning activities.
Quality & Engineering Excellence
- Develop unit tests and support system, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Support monitoring, operational readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote modern engineering practices and platform governance standards.
Experience and Qualifications
Experience
- 5-8+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dataverse.
- Proven experience building Power Apps, Custom Pages, and Power Automate solutions.
- Experience developing C# Plugins, Custom APIs, and Custom Actions.
- Strong experience with JavaScript customisation within Dynamics 365.
- Experience with solution deployment, ALM, and CI/CD processes.
- Experience integrating Dynamics 365 with external applications and APIs.
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- Microsoft Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400) preferred.
- Power Platform Functional Consultant (PL-200) advantageous.
- Dynamics 365 and Power Platform certifications advantageous.
- Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) advantageous.
