What will you do?

 

This role exists in our Sanlam Life and Savings: Forensic Services department that focuses on providing effective fraud risk management services to all business clusters serviced.  This is a specialist technical role that works closely with the Forensic Investigators, and various stakeholders within the business, and whose primary responsibilities are to undertake data analytics, investigations and reporting. 

What will make you successful in this role?

 

  • Extract and create regular MIS reports for the business
  • Create new/updated report views
  • Undertake adhoc investigations and reports based on business needs/problems
  • Build business models
  • Undertake data management (structure and storage, transformations)
  • Apply data analytics/science
  • Stakeholder management

Qualification and Experience

 

  • Grade 12
  • Related qualification in data science preferable (maths and statistics)
  • Relevant accreditations in tools, applications (i.e.: Python, R, SQL, etc)
  • 6 months -1 year working experience in data analytics code and data extraction/reporting

Knowledge and Skills

 

  • Proficient in MS: Excel, Word, PP, Outlook and Access
  • Standard Data storage reading/writing: SQL, flat files including CSV
  • GLM modelling and Machine learning techniques
  • BI and Big Data tools would be an advantage: Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive, Pig, Data streaming
  • Data modelling

  • Architecture and Infrastructure management and enablement
  • Data Science solutions for Big Data problems.
