End User Computing (EUC) Architect

Who are we?
Sanlam Group Technology is responsible for the provision of a digitally enabled technology service as a group COE, drive business and transformation and provide group-wide digital and data architecture. We operate the various technology platforms and shared services, ensure Cyber and Information Security resilience, and act as technology governance and risk orchestrator for technology across Sanlam.
What will you do?
Responsible for the planning, designing and building of an IT infrastructure architecture, usually at an enterprise level, to meet business requirements. IT infrastructure includes computer hardware, operating systems, utilities software, server hardware, storage and backup. The specification, product selection and design of infrastructure components to implement a systems architecture. The identification of new and emerging software technologies, methodologies and products, and ICT methods and techniques and the ongoing assessment of their relevance and potential value to the organisation. Applying mainly Development Management Technologies and methodologies, such as Application Life Cycle Management (ALM) e.g. Agile, Waterfall or other pattern, practices, and development frameworks. Utilising mainly a combination of relevant Architecture Models such as Technology, Data, Access, Identity, Security Management Models and Change Management Models.
What will make you successful in this role?
- Define EUC architecture roadmap aligned to enterprise strategy
- Design modern workplace platforms including endpoint, VDI, and collaboration tools
- Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and governance requirements
- Lead evaluation and implementation of EUC technologies
- Providing technical oversight and guidance across projects and BAU
- Reducing technical debt and architectural risk
- Enabling informed decision-making through clear architectural artefacts and recommendations
- Ensuring operational readiness, including support models, monitoring, and resilience

Qualification
- Matric
- Degree in Information Technology or related field
Experience
- 8–10+ years IT experience with EUC or infrastructure architecture focus
- Experience with cloud, endpoint management, and virtual desktops
Technical Competencies
- Endpoint management (Intune, SCCM, etc)
- VDI/DaaS (W365/Azure Virtual Desktop/AWS Workspaces)
- Identity & Access Management (Entra ID, MFA)
- Collaboration platforms (Microsoft 365)
- Cloud architecture principles
- Zero Trust principles
