What will you do?

Statutory reporting:

  • Technical accounting support
  • HFM reporting actuals, budget and forecast on a quarterly basis
  • Prepare annual financial statements and manage the statutory external audit process end-to-end
  • Resolve Group finance queries
  • Dividends and equity covenant calculations and liquidity and solvency tests
  • Management Reporting: Maintain accurate, complete financials records
  • Annual budgeting and periodic forecasting
  • Reporting: monthly management and quarterly board reports
  • Presenting monthly results in F&R Manco
  • Funding and cashflow projections and assessment of costs and related variances
  • Quarterly GEV Valuations reporting for a retail credit business  
  • Quarterly VNB reporting submissions

Management accounts:

  • Managing month end processes
  • Review and approve all journals and reconciliations
  • Prepare standalone and consolidated management accounts

Taxation:

  • Review Monthly VAT calculations and submission
  • Review Bi-annual provisional tax, annual income tax returns submission, withholding tax returns,
  • Manage SARS audit queries with the assistance of Sanlam Group Tax Services

Other related:

  • SAP and HFM admistration
  • Review and approval of supplier payments through auditing invoices.  
  • Manage relationships with various stakeholders to ensure all reporting requirements are addressed timeously.

Qualification and Experience

  • Experience in a similar role is beneficial
  • Financial Services industry experience is ideal
  • CA (SA) preferable
  • Minimum 3- 5 years post qualification work experience
