Sanlam Life and Savings consists of the following business units Retail Mass, Corporate, Risk and Savings, Glacier and various business enabling functions. The Sanlam Life and Savings Office provides strategic direction, coordination and support to the four clusters, as well as performing governance oversight that includes assurance provided by second line of defense functions in SLS, to enable us to meet our business objectives.
What will you do?
- Manage Business Unit & Business Unit Performance
- Manage Implementation of existing & new processes, services & procedures
- Strategic Actions – Manage effective streamlining of processes
- Manage Productivity, Quality & Work-related Problems
- Manage Department Budget
- Manage Staffing Process
- Manage Individual Training & Development
- Manage Individual Performance
- Accurate reporting
- Resolution of queries on financial reports, control and authorisation accounts
- Resolve audit findings
- Complaints investigation and resolution
- Recommendations regarding exceptional claims decisions in collaboration with death claims consultants and management.
- Interaction with various departments in and outside of Business Transformation & Shared Services
- Ensure effective management of Service Level Agreements between BTSS, NUB, Distribution, Actuarial, Re-insurers, internal doctors.
- Effective communication to respective role-players.
- Focus and motivate team
- Effective Death Claims Production Centre management
What will make you successful in this role?
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and/or Accountancy.
- Tertiary qualification.
Experience / Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the Individual Life Insurance processes and products.
- Knowledge of death claims processes will be advantageous
- 3-5 years' leadership experience in managing a team of agents
- Impact of legislation, e.g. FICA, Pension Funds Act.
