What will you do?

The main responsibilities include owning and managing the Benefits Operations function, being the subject matter expert on business rules, -processes and –controls, having a detailed understanding of controls and analytics in the area of responsibility and ensuring business operations readiness for new development. 

What will make you successful in this role?

The focus of this position is to own, support and maintain existing and new functional operational processes. 
As subject matter expert on functional area assists with investigations, business agreement rules, business impact, benefit analysis and updates of business cases. 
Own and improve specific functional processes which includes sound understanding of business requirements for new or changed business models, or changes to existing and new models, including application requirements across systems and service/benefit providers.
Provide operational support on client enquiries and exceptions which includes record analysis, identification of root causes for exceptions and providing solutions to existing business processing
Ensure business controls (for example dashboards or data controls) are applied and exceptions resolved.
Provide recommendations on how we can improve efficiency and effectiveness across our business
Sound understanding of functional business process models and ability to identify variances from operational and performance requirements. 
Recommend changes to existing processes as required and integration of changes between internal and external environments.
Recommend and assist to drive out process optimisation and process automation where possible
Assist with operational support and reporting where needed for example business controls, data handling or ad-hoc operational requirements.
Provide analytical support for Business Operations including detailed and summary reporting on key controls and ad-hoc analytical reports
Analysis of data from different internal- and external providers to obtain insights on business operational exceptions
Provide and maintain analytical dashboards for Business Operations 
Provide analytics on existing and new business operational processes when required
Provide quality assurance on analytical reports received from service/benefit providers
Own, manage and direct changes that impact functional area of responsibility by understanding and influencing new or changed business requirements in functional area of responsibility
Ensure operational readiness for new or changed requirements by using the operational readiness framework
Participate in transitioning the requirements and use cases to various members 
Participate and support test cases and test results to ensure coverage of relevant business scenarios, use cases and functionalities have been met
Assist to enable service/benefit providers on new or changed business requirements

Qualification and Experience

Accredited Business or System Analysis course
A Relevant degree or diploma 
At least 4 years relevant experience within the Financial Services industry
Exposure to analysis methodologies, process disciplines and exposure to development activities
Exposure to operational support environment including operational analytics

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of business and understanding of IT, and ability to converse in both domains
Knowledge of client service analysis and design, including Client Journey processes
Computer skills (MS Office)
Analytical proficiency
Knowledge and experience in Power BI reporting will be an advantage
Proven work experience as an Operations Analyst or similar role
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience using statistical and database software
