Purpose of the Role
Implements and executes policies, processes, and training offerings. Recommends new training techniques and programmes. Provides support in developing training to meet identified needs. Assists in the assessment of the suitability of development in the training field.
The role further supports the research, design and development of engaging learning content and resources across online, blended, face-to-face and self-paced learning environments. This includes translating business and technical requirements into practical learning experiences and supporting the effective use of learning technologies.
Overview of Role Responsibilities
Learning and Development (L&D) Program Design
Level 5 - Process Efficiency; Application
Design learning sessions to meet the requirements of a specified curriculum or to fill gaps in existing programmes. Develop and maintain relevant content and high-quality training resources to ensure high levels of learner engagement and achievement of learning outcomes aligned with business requirements.
Develop instructional content and learning resources appropriate for online, blended, face-to-face and self-paced learning programmes. Maintain, update and review existing learning content to ensure continued relevance and effectiveness.
Learning and Development (L&D) Program Delivery
Level 5 - Process Efficiency; Application
Deliver training sessions or short courses, engaging, advising, and guiding learners and evaluating the achievement of intended learning outcomes for maximum business impact.
Support the rollout of new learning interventions, including pilots and train-the-trainer sessions where required.
Learning Needs Analysis
Level 5 - Process Efficiency; Application
Support the identification of learning needs by analysing performance and competence data to identify gaps in relation to required levels; recommend priorities for learning and development interventions.
Assess instructional needs and business requirements to identify appropriate learning solutions and support evidence-based recommendations.
Training Development and Delivery
Level 5 - Process Efficiency; Application
Develop training courses to fill gaps in existing programmes, methods, or tools. Run training programmes for specific technical areas using prepared content.
Design workshops in relation to content, structure and learning process, and collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders in developing effective learning solutions.
Learning Experience
Level 5 - Process Efficiency; Application
Design user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) for intra/internet interfaces and employee experience in the Integrated Learning Environment through their online learning experiences and into the employee-facing features and functions of the Integrated Learning Environment.
Support the integration of appropriate learning technologies into curricula and learning programmes to enhance learner engagement and accessibility.
Required Skills
Learning and Talent Development - Intermediate
Works at an intermediate level to ensure that people at all levels in the organisation possess and develop the skills, knowledge and experiences needed to fulfil the short- and long-term ambitions of the organisation and that they are motivated to learn, grow and develop. Typically works with guidance.
Training Program Design - Intermediate
Works at an intermediate level to design and develop courseware and programmes. Typically works with guidance. Experience in e-learning and blended-learning development and the design of engaging instructional content will be advantageous.
LMS, E-Learning and Computer-Based Training - Intermediate
Works at an intermediate level to effectively use learning management systems, online learning platforms, and computer-based training programmes to facilitate and deliver instructional content and assessments. Typically works with guidance. Exposure to learning technologies and content-authoring tools such as Moodle, Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia or equivalent platforms will be advantageous.
Multimedia Education - Intermediate
Works at an intermediate level to provide computer-based training courses and reference material that enables users to engage with presentations, text, illustrations and other information formats. Typically works with guidance.
Assessment - Fully Competent
Works with full competence to assimilate and understand data and information from various sources to analyse training needs; draw appropriate conclusions and make relevant recommendations to achieve business impact. Typically works without supervision and may provide technical guidance.
Data Management - Human Resources - Fully Competent
Works with full competence to gather, analyse, interpret and report on HR data to support informed decision-making, identify trends and ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulations. Typically works without supervision and may provide technical guidance. The ability to use data, reporting and learning analytics to evaluate learning effectiveness and inform improvements will be advantageous.
General Experience
Experienced practitioner able to work unsupervised. Minimum 3 years' relevant experience. Exposure to instructional design, learning content development, e-learning or blended-learning environments will be advantageous.
Managerial Experience
Not applicable
Education
Diploma. A relevant qualification in Instructional Design, Learning and Development, Education, or a related discipline will be advantageous.
