Sanlam Collective Investments (SCI)
Sanlam Collective Investments (SCI) was established in 1967 as a full Sanlam subsidiary. Sanlam Collective Investments manages over R590 billion on behalf of more than 300 000 clients. Other renowned financial services companies have also partnered with us to offer third-party funds. In these cases, the third-party funds are distributed and promoted by respective financial services companies, whereas Sanlam Collective Investments is responsible for client administration and compliance.
Role Objective:
The SCI Business Analysis team seeks an Intermediate Business Analysis to complement the existing team who are responsible for the systematic and methodical investigation, analysis and documentation of all or part of a business area in terms of business functions and processes, including the information used across applications.
The incumbent will be responsible for impact analysis to identify all affected interfaces by new systems or changes to existing systems and a BI component including, but not limited to the following:
- Identify and examine the business needs to determine timely and effective solutions to business functions and processes.
- Work closely with the business teams/owners to make suggestions to enhance and improve current processes and act as a bridge between the business and the IT development team.
- Evaluate and document the underlying business architecture, conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, write proposals and create functional requirements for new applications and major changes to existing applications.
The role will include occasional after-hours work. The role could require occasional travel and managing relationships within investments or the broader financial services industry is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile and deliver quality, detailed and comprehensive business requirement specification documents/user stories, including process mapping and design.
- Closely working with Business teams/Product Owners, development team, vendors and testers to ensure requirements are delivered in an expected format.
- Provides inputs into training manuals and assists with transfer of knowledge to end users and trainers and colleagues.
- Working with key service providers to ensure business requirements, business rules and controls are documented and signed off.
- Translate business requirements into effective solutions.
- Provide input into test plans, review test designs and assist with the coordination of testing effort.
Qualification and Experience:
- Degree or diploma and/or certification with 3 years related experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a business analyst role or similar role.
- Collective Investment Schemes (CIS) or Financial Services experience is essential.

- Ability to write basic SQL queries to an advanced level

- executive teams
- Strong facilitation skills for meetings, workshops and forums
