Job Purpose

 

To lead and evolve Sanlam Risk and Savings’ intermediary marketing and events strategy, driving deeper engagement with SanlamConnect (distribution partner) and intermediaries and positioning Sanlam Risk & Savings as a preferred partner. This role calls for strategic vision, creativity, and the ability to convert business priorities into impactful marketing and event experiences. It ensures that Sanlam Risk and Savings’ product positioning, communication, and campaigns align with business goals and effectively drive adviser engagement, retention, and sales growth.

 

What will you do?

 

Strategic Marketing

 

  • Develop and implement marketing plans tailored to intermediary audiences that are aligned with Sanlam Risk and Savings business objectives and growth ambitions and intermediary engagement goals.
  • Align campaigns with product launches, regulatory requirements, and business priorities and identifying and developing new marketing channels and touchpoints to expand Sanlam Risk and Savings’ reach and relevance.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform positioning and lead segmentation and personalisation strategies to deliver targeted, data-driven campaigns.

 

Intermediary Engagement

 

  • Build strong relationships with SanlamConnect and intermediaries through targeted campaigns, communications and events that support strategic business objectives.
  • Create and deliver marketing collateral, toolkits, presentations, and communication to support intermediary understanding and sales.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of events, from concept to execution to post-event analytics—with a focus on innovation, brand elevation, product consideration and ROI.
  • Partner with distribution teams to ensure consistent messaging and intermediary support and leveraging feedback and insights to refine engagement strategies.

 

Campaign Management

 

  • Plan, execute, and evaluate multi-channel campaigns that support business priorities.
  • Track performance metrics and provide insights to refine and optimize future activity.
  • Manage budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery.

 

Collaboration & Leadership

 

  • Work closely with the Client Marketing, Communications, Product, Intermediary Support teams to ensure marketing accuracy and alignment.
  • Lead cross-functional projects and collaboration and manage external agencies or suppliers.
  • Support junior team members with guidance and coaching.
  • Mentor, develop and support junior team members, fostering a high-performance culture.

 

What will make you successful in this role?

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, or related field.

 

Experience:

 

  • At least 7 years’ experience in strategic marketing, campaign and event management.
  • Proven track record of designing and executing marketing strategies and delivering successful campaigns.
  • Exposure to project management with the focus on multiple priorities.
  • Experience in campaign measurement, reporting and budget management.
  • Experience in translating technical product detail into compelling marketing will be an advantage.
  • Experience in Financial Services marketing within an intermediary-focused role will be an advantage.
