What will you do?

This role is responsible for managing and overseeing for the people, processes and technologies delivering Sanlam's Directory & Logical Access Platforms & Services.

What will make you successful in this role?

  • Accountable for implementing and operating Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services in accordance with the business's reliability and capacity requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders, project managers, developers and architects to understand requirements and constraints.
  • Active engagement with technology partners to deliver an integrated solution across platforms.
  • Collaborate with Security Architecture as is applicable to Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services.
  • Collaborate with IAM (Identity and Access Management) and Role Based Access platforms and services teams.
  • Design and implement procedures and best practices in Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services.
  • Accountable and responsible for budgets, contracts and procurement of services and software applicable to Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services.
  • Research and recommend policies and procedures to protect information assets from unauthorized or accidental modification, destruction or disclosure. 
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technology, emerging threats, and best practices in Directory Services, Privileged Access, Cloud Identity, RBAC and security.
  • Responsible for Appointing, developing, and retaining Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services talent.
  • Ensure appropriate standards, patterns, best practices and operational maturity models are in place and monitored.
    Mentor team and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services Product Development Lifecycle.   Continuously improve and refine processes, procedures and system development life cycle frequently to deliver business value to the business.
  • Responsible for implementing and maturing Agile and DevOps tooling and practices for the Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services environment.
  • Prioritize efforts with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric
  • A relevant IT qualification.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification preferable.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in technology roles.
  • 5 years in solution architecture and systems design.
  • Experience leading and managing a team.
  • Experience working in a hybrid- and multi-cloud environment (AWS preferred) and cloud technologies (AWS & Azure technologies preferred).
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Experience in cloud security concepts.
  • Experience operating and engineering solutions in a Cloud-focussed organization.
  • Proven experience delivering and managing Directory & Logical Access Platforms & Services, Access Management & authorization solutions (RBAC, PBAC, ABAC, IDP), Identity Governance and/or Identity and Access Management technologies.
  • Proven experience delivering long-term, repeatable IaC solutions into an overall CI/CD process.
  • Proven experience deploying and configuring Cloud Services using Terraform.
  • Exposure to or understanding of Project Management Principles
  • Working in a DevOps environment (including proven CI/CD experience with technologies such as GitLab or Github, Nexus and others).
  • Knowledge of JSON templates, PowerShell, CLI’s, Shell, Python.
  • Understanding of Cloud technologies and best practices, Networking in Public and Hybrid Cloud environments,
  • Network protocols, network architecture and security.
  • Understanding of virtualization technologies, such as VMWare, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of Security Architecture concepts including encryption, authentication, database security, Identity
  • Providers, Enterprise single sign-on (SSO), Federated SSO, multi-factor authentication, API security.
