What will you do?

 

The main purpose of the role is to support the business’s cash and bank related activities. This role involves diverse responsibilities such as handling transactional bank queries and effecting payments, reconciling bank and associated suspense accounts, investigating and resolving open items, ensuring Banking SAP GL accounts are accurate and complete, assist with monitoring of FICA CTR , compilation of the cash funding requirements reports and investigate and follow up of cash forecast variances with business, managing business and bank queries assisting management with internal and external auditors’ deliverables.

What will make you successful in this role?

 

  • Ensure that manual bank statements are updated into SAP (where applicable).
  • Perform suspense and bank account reconciliations per banking services procedures and investigate unallocated  items for resolve.
  • Prepare and track daily Business Funding requirements to ensure sufficient liquidity exists on daily basis .
  • Ensure accurate Cash Funding Reports are distributed to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Perform Opening balance variance analysis on all managed bank accounts.
  • Ensure all approved journals are recorded in SAP/MJCT.
  • Liaise with banks and internal stake-holders on Transactional queries and follow up for resolution.
  • Maintain updated process checklists.
  • Ensure adherence to FICA requirements.
  • File maintenance and record keeping.
  • Manage email queries with little supervision.
  • Support management with internal and external audit deliverables.
  • Identify and communicate system and process issues in SAP.
  • Proactively identify and communicate any discrepancies on Bank Statements manager.
  • Assist manager with UAT for SAP solutions before implementation.
  • Approve domestic payments on Banks system and ensure approved payments are captured accurately, completely and timeously on Bank system.
  • Consolidate and prepare bank charges and interest report for all managed accounts and drive clearing of variances.
  • Back-up for completing the monthly Dashboard for unallocated entries and ensure its complete and accurate for senior manager review.
  • Support management with ad-hoc tasks.

 

Qualification and Experience:

 

  • Relevant Financial degree with accounting as a major (non-negotiable)
  • Minimum 3 years in Finance role (with a good accounting foundation)
  • Minimum 3 years’ working experience in accounting and performing Reconciliations (preferably Cash and Bank)

Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • MS Office (Outlook, Excel, MS teams) experience
  • SAP working experience
  • Reconciliation Tool
  • Manual Journal Capture Tool (MJCT)
  • Knowledge of PASA (Payment Association of South Africa)
  • Knowledge of Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA)
