What will you do?

Responsible for all activities relating to the operation of data, communication and processing equipment and services including the server infrastructure and peripheral equipment. Manages the functions within the operations environment. Assigns personnel to projects when necessary. Reviews and evaluates work and prepares performance reports. Confers with and advises subordinates on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities and methods. Consults with personnel in other information system sections to coordinate activities. Prepares activity and progress reports regarding the computer operations section.

Support projects and BAU Teams from concept, technical design through deployment emphasising scalable and maintainable code
Manage code repositories and version control using GitHub
Analysis of change requests received
Provide recommendations and cost or man-day estimates for implementing changes
Test own programs or artefacts to ensure correctness
Test Interfaces to other systems
Debugging of programs
Provide test information to Testers
Implement changes into the Production environment
Document changes implemented and programs
Updates of data model documentation
Problem solving, root cause analysis and user assistance (functional)
Technical support or assistance to others on own programs or systems
Provide standby or support (if and when applicable)

Qualifications

Matric
Relevant IT Qualifications (degree or diploma)

Experience

⦁ Minimum 5 years’ experience developing software using C# within the .NET ecosystem
⦁ Practical experience with:
⦁ SQL Server and relational database technologies
⦁ Microservices architecture
⦁ Front‑end frameworks (preferably React)
⦁ Testing frameworks such as NUnit or MSTest
⦁ Web, cloud‑native, and cloud‑based applications
⦁ Application monitoring and observability tools

Knowledge and Skills

⦁ Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET Framework
⦁ Solid understanding of Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP)
⦁ Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
⦁ Knowledge of software design patterns and engineering best practices
⦁ Experience working within Agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban)
⦁ Basic understanding of UML (Class, Activity, ER Diagrams)
⦁ Exposure to the Financial Services industry (advantageous)
⦁ Working knowledge of core AWS services (strongly recommended)
