What will you do?
Data Analysis
- Collect, cleanse, validate, and transform data from multiple sources to support accurate and reliable reporting.
- Assess data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity, and investigate anomalies where required.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, exceptions, and actionable insights.
- Analyse data to support business decisions, strategic objectives, and operational improvements.
- Create, update, and maintain documentation for new and existing business processes.
- Design and map processes to enhance efficiency, consistency, and control.
Static Data Maintenance
- Maintain and update client records to accurately reflect new information and changes in client circumstances.
- Extract, analyse, and report on client static data, including supporting periodic reviews of account information.
- Investigate and resolve queries relating to client and account static data.
- Maintain data accuracy and completeness across relevant systems and records.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of data-related queries and issues.
Instrument Maintenance & Corporate Actions
- Create, maintain and validate offshore financial instruments and related security-master data across approved back-office systems.
- Maintain accurate identifiers, classifications, market details, pricing attributes and corporate-action information.
- Collect, cleanse and reprocess data from multiple sources to ensure complete and accurate instrument records.
- Monitor offshore instrument pricing and investigate, resolve and escalate pricing exceptions.
- Review and process corporate-action information, ensuring accurate capture and reflection across applicable systems.
- Apply knowledge of corporate actions, securities lifecycles and settlement processes to daily activities.
Reconciliation
- Transaction reconciliations : Confirms that executed trades match between the trading desk, broker confirmations, and settlement systems.
- Position reconciliations : Matches the quantity of securities held in the portfolio against the custodian or broker records to verify share count
- Cash Reconciliations - Compares cash balances in the investment management system with the custodian bank statement to find missing fees, dividends, or trades.
- Conduct daily analysis of exchange rates loaded across all relevant applications.
- Perform daily investigations, reconciliations, and corrective actions relating to the pricing of offshore and locally listed securities.
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and system-support providers to resolve discrepancies and exceptions.
- Monitor outstanding issues and escalate overdue, unresolved, or high-risk items.
- Perform daily Power Query reviews of asset-swap account transactions.
- Retrieve, analyse, and investigate interface files supporting rejected transactions.
- Monitor exceptions according to ageing, materiality, and operational risk.
- Maintain accurate exception logs, investigation records, and supporting evidence of resolution.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend preventative controls and process improvements.
Qualification and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance or Economics
- 3-5 years experience in the investments industry specifically in the asset management back office or investment administration environments
Knowledge and skills
- Extensive financial services experience required, especially of the END-END investment management lifecycle and processes
- Deep understanding of international financial markets and market data in terms of instruments, pricing and corporate actions
- Knowledge of KYC and AML legislation and regulations applicable to onboarding new clients.
