Purpose of the Role

To independently manage intermediary and/or client relationships within a defined segment, providing guidance, supporting financial planning outcomes, and ensuring regulatory compliance while contributing to sustainable revenue and relationship growth.

 

This role will report to the Business Manager. This is a third party marketing and relationships building role serving as an interface between Sanlam and Authorised Principals (AP) and their advisers.  The Sales Consultant markets and promotes Sanlam products to Authorised Principals and advisers operating in the senior segment.  The Sales Consultant seeks to build a trusting and partnering relationship that seeks to build new business opportunities; supports and up-skills Authorised Principals and their advisers with relevant information, tools and technologies that will enable the Authorised principals and advisers in their practice.   

Overview of Role Responsibilities


•    Provide Authorized Principal and advisers with support and assistance to grow their practice
•    Administration and processing of business
•    Drive sales and business building activities with Authorized Principal and advisers
•    Build sound partnering relationships with the product provider resources, the Authorized Principal advisers/service agents and Sanlam

General Experience

Sound experience and understanding of distribution model and procedures or systems.

 

Qualification/s and Experience:
•    Wealth Management 1, 2 or 3 or equivalent
•    An industry related qualification would be advantageous
•    Regulatory Exam would be advantageous
•    Minimum 4 years’ experience in Financial Services sales environment
•    Thorough understanding of agency distribution model and supporting processing requirements would be advantageous

 

Knowledge and Skills: 
•    MS: Office (Excel, Word, PP); Outlook; SanFin; AUTONUB
•    Valid driver’s licence
•    Own reliable motor vehicle
•    Business Management
•    Financial Services Industry Knowledge 
•    Financial Services Product Knowledge (Sanlam and competitors)
