Sanlam Life and Savings (SLS) is focused on serving our retail and corporate clients in South Africa and further developing our strategic advantages in the South African market. Sanlam Life and Savings consists of the following business units Retail Mass, Corporate, Risk and Savings, Glacier and various business enabling functions. The Sanlam Life and Savings Office provides strategic direction, coordination and support to the four clusters, as well as performing governance oversight that includes assurance provided by second line of defense functions in SLS, to enable us to meet our business objectives.
What will you do?
SA Retail Mass cluster offers a unique opportunity for young, enthusiastic and energetic persons from the designated groups to gain practical working experience in a corporate environment. The Internship programme offers:
• A 12-month contract
• A monthly stipend
• On job training, continuous, coaching and mentoring
Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide administrative support to the PMO (Project Management Office) and assist with daily office operations.
• Coordinate meetings, schedule appointments, book meeting rooms, and take meeting minutes.
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes for new and existing employees.
• Assist with procurement activities, including obtaining quotes and following up on payments.
• Maintain project documentation, action logs, issue logs, and SharePoint information.
• Support project reporting by collecting updates and preparing status reports and presentation packs.
• Communicate with project teams and stakeholders to track actions and ensure timely follow-ups.
• Assist with managing system access requests, resource requirements, and project administration activities.
• Provide general support to the Head of PMO and project teams to ensure smooth project office operations.
What will make you successful in this role?
Qualification & experience
- Matric
- A tertiary qualification/certification related to project management
Knowledge and skills
- Intermediate to advance knowledge in MS Office and MS Teams, which includes Word, Outlook Powerpoint, Excel, Projects, SharePoint, etc.
- Knowledge of project methodologies will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of drafting and updating project documents will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of projects management will be advantageous.
