What will you do?

Assists the Chief Actuary with valuations in a financial services institution.  Responsible for premium rates and all other statutory valuation work.  Responsible for the activities of a department or a specific function or area e.g. supervision of actuarial staff, actuarial students and clerical staff.  In Pension Fund Industry would be appointed as Fund Evaluator with responsibility for checking fund calculations and doing complex presentations to clients.  In a Consulting environment would clarify client requirements and translate actuarial concepts into client-friendly terminology, meeting all reporting requirements.  May also be involved in product development.

 

  • Review and produce relevant reports on experience investigations
  • Review and update of valuation basis
  • Provide ongoing actuarial support to business development initiatives
  • Documentation & communication of relevant stakeholders
  • Enhancement and further development of experience investigations processes
  • Co-ordinate Business Intelligence development and initiatives within Sanlam Sky
  • People management duties including training & development of staff and performance management

 

What will make you successful in this role?

Qualifications:

  • Actuarial degree
  • Nearly Qualified/Qualified actuary

 

Experience and skills:

  • Minimum 3 year’s experience
  • Proficiency in Excel and Prophet
  • Relevant investigations/valuations experience would be advantageous
Qualification and Experience
Qualified Actuary (passed all subjects) with 2 ��� 4 years related experience.
