What will you do?
The Business Development Manager will be responsible to build and utilise their own networks to attain and retain direct clients to Sanlam Private Wealth. The key outcome of the roles is to:
- Attract new business and increase retention of existing business in the intermediated and direct client space
- Source and introduce new Intermediaries to Sanlam Private Wealth for portfolio managers to manage
- Ensure that profitable annual sales and monthly targets are met
- Further develop and grow the regional business from Sanlam Connect Advisers and Brokers
- Implementing an Intermediary support model to Sanlam Private Wealth, the intermediary and the various Sanlam Group providers
- Train and develop the Intermediary and Intermediary support staff
- Be present at all strategic meetings and gatherings where regional presence is required
- Support marketing efforts and events
- Participate in client value proposition implementation
- Facilitate or identify intermediary needs and developing a profitable practice for HNW and UHNW clients
- Co-ordinate and maintain effective SLA’s with all relevant stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements
- Train and facilitate the use of Sanlam Private Wealth’s digital strategy and tools

Qualification and experience
- Relevant financial/ investment qualification (Financial tertiary qualification)
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a distribution environment
- Supporting and developing of intermediary practices
- Proven Sales related success and track record
- Valid drivers’ license and own reliable vehicle
Knowledge and skills
- Technical knowledge about the client value proposition across investments, Fiduciary & Tax, lending and industry trends
- Understanding of financial markets
- Knowledge of the trading environment

- Ability to perform well under pressure and show maturity, confidence and resilience
- Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills
