Purpose of the role
End-to-end Support, coordination & analysis of project governance and benefit realisation of all business change initiatives (strategic, governance, BAU improvements, data quality improvements, etc.) in accordance with Sanlam Corporate’s defined Project Management Office (PMO) Methodology Framework. Ability to oversee and fulfil various analytical & coordination duties is critical.
Roles and responsibilities
- Conduct Business process analysis and requirements gathering on all change demands within the business, including but not limited to:
- Modeling, validating and translating business processes, data & information needs into business requirement specifications, user stories, business rules, and/or use cases that are used by developers to craft technical solutions
- Act as liaison between business & project stakeholders, and acting as a facilitator of organizational and cultural change.
- Continuous engagement with various stakeholders in conducting and gathering analysis work
- Provide operational direction, guidance and support on complex people, process and system challenges.
- Provide root cause analysis and recommendations for successful project deliveries
- Work closely with the relevant Business Transformation Office (BTO) business leads and the respective project leads in order to provide project governance analysis, coordination, and support, including but not limited to:
- Champion process improvement initiatives and ensure smooth adoption through effective change management practices.
- Stakeholder analyses and mapping across all change initiatives, as well as monitoring and tracking dependencies regularly, to ensure conflicts are proactively mitigated
- Support project leads with automated solutions in better facilitating effective Stakeholder management, including meetings; packs & completeness thereof; actions; etc.
- Benefits realization measurement of all change initiatives, as well monitoring & tracking after project closure and handover to BAU
- PMO Portfolio Reporting: monitor and maintain all established project reporting, to ensure adherence across all change initiatives, as well as enhancements where applicable
- Continuous analysis of Project Management Office (PMO) processes, identify gaps and improvement opportunities, and make recommendations for successful project deliveries
- Conduct regular independent assessments on the cluster’s projects within the PMO landscape, highlighting gaps, and driving remediation accordingly.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree; National Diploma in Commerce; Information systems; Data Science; Engineering or equivalent
- 2 – 5 years Functional experience in business analysis; reporting & analytics; data visualization packages is essential
- Project management functional experience or related qualification is advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in working within corporate governance and audit environment is advantageous
