What will you do?

  • Managing client investment portfolios for HNW, UHNW and family office clients
  • Portfolio construction
  • Building an asset base / business development
  • Maintaining client relationships
  • Aligning individual client portfolios with model portfolios
  • Monitoring individual portfolios and dealing with market movements and research
  • Obtaining client’s instructions with regards to corporate actions, dividends etc.
  • Completion of new client mandates
  • Provide holistic advice across the entire value proposition of Sanlam Private Wealth including client access to Fiduciary & Tax, credit backed lending etc
  • Be able to converse with clients through intermediaries and direct clients

Qualification and experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in the investment management industry (preferably with an established client base).
  • Knowledge and experience in the management of equities, multi-asset class portfolios, portfolio construction and understanding trade-offs in risk and return.
  • Post graduate degree (B.Sc., B.Com. or B.Bus.Sc.)
  • Relevant Regulatory exam qualification RE 5 applicable to CAT II
  • JSE Trading exam qualification
  • Understanding and knowledge of the FAIS Act.
  • Studying towards a relevant post graduate qualification would be advantageous (CFA, FRM)

Knowledge and skills

  • Fully bilingual [fluent in Afrikaans / English reading, writing and communication]
  • The ability to set and maintain high work standards
  • Previous related experience, preferably within wealth management or stockbroking
  • Results orientation / self-starter
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • An understanding of the financial markets
  • Integrity in conducting all business activities
  • The ability to promote the organization & self
