What will you do?
We have a vacancy for a talented Actuarial Specialist to join our dynamic team in Alice Lane, Sandton. The position will give the successful candidate wide ranging exposure to the investment and retirement industry. The successful candidate will report to and work closely with the Head of Investment Strategy, assisting the team in meeting their objectives in terms of profitability and growth while driving innovation and client centricity.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Product Support
- Assist with client investment feedback
- Provide technical investment support to product teams
- Perform quantitative and qualitative investment analyses
- Assist with specialised proposals on investment products
- Provide technical product support to distribution team (including competitor analysis)
- Draft and maintain product information
- Over time, deliver presentations to existing clients and new business pitches to prospective clients
Solution Development
- Assist with the development and implementation of new solutions, including research and idea testing and enhancing existing solutions
Analysis and Information Gathering
- Documents changes to existing business processes when relevant to implementation.
- Provide effective management information
Stakeholder Engagement
- Consult and engage with key stakeholders including, actuarial, administration, product owners, investment specialists, intermediaries, internal investment managers and clients
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients
Qualification and Experiences
- Bachelor’s degree
- Progress towards either an actuarial / CFA qualification
- Zero to three years relevant working experience
- Prior experience in an investment, employee benefits and/or actuarial environment would be advantageous
- Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
