Sanlam Corporate Investments is the business responsible for developing and managing institutional investment solutions within the Sanlam Group, including annuities, life-pooled investments, smooth bonus solutions, liability driven investments and other customised or tailored investment solutions for institutional investors. What will you do?

You will ensure that all the intermediaries giving advice to our retirement fund client members are fully equipped to use our products to improve the retirement outcomes of the retirement fund members. The role will deliver value to Sanlam Corporate Investments (SC Invest) by ensuring all independent financial advisors are serviced and supported at all times. This role is based in Sandton in Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage and support independent financial advisors (IFAs), tied agents, and employee benefit consultants to ensure they understand and can effectively position Sanlam Corporate Investment’s product offerings
  • Collaborate with intermediary firms, consulting houses, and other key stakeholders to drive product adoption and strategic alignment
  • Deliver training, insights, and tools to empower intermediaries to provide high-quality advice tailored to retirement fund members’ needs
  • Act as a strategic partner to internal teams (e.g. Distribution, Marketing & Product Development) and external stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and value creation
  • Monitor market trends and feedback from consultants and advisors to inform product enhancements and business development strategies
  • Represent SC Invest at industry events, forums, and client engagements to build brand visibility and strengthen relationships
  • Building, servicing, and maintaining relationships with financial advisors and brokers
  • Act as a relationship manager for all products offered by Sanlam Corporate Investments to financial advisors and brokers
  • Onboarding of intermediaries for quoting tool, product training and registration
  • Handle queries related to all Sanlam Corporate Investment products, quotes and implementation processes
  • Supporting Sanlam Corporate with the development and implementation of our pre- and post-retirement member strategy
  • Regular engagements with stakeholders about Sanlam Corporate’s value proposition and product offering in the evolving savings and retirement landscape
  • Contributing to an excellent client experience that is synonymous with Sanlam client philosophy and company values
  • Keep abreast with trends and developments in the investment, umbrella fund and wider employee benefits industry 
  • Grow the footprint of SCI
  • Assisting with implementation and roll-out of new growth strategies 

Qualification and Experience

  • Matric 
  • Relevant Financial Bachelor’s degree 
  • CFP qualification would be highly advantageous
  • A minimum 5 years of employee benefit and insurance industry experience
  • A deep knowledge and understanding of financial products in the savings and retirement industry is required
  • An understanding of the advice and sales process of investment and retirement solutions for a life insurer would be advantageous
