What will you do?

 

Responsible for managing significant components of the day-to-day operations of the Manco (Management Company) ETF and unit trust operations and SLA management of outsourced arrangements (Custody and Trustees, Liability Administration, Fund administration, Market Makers, Portfolio Management, Liability platforms and Scrip Lending desks). Managing the creation and redemption process, transfer of securities between exchanges, rebalancing, and distribution processes. Additionally, reviewing portfolio accounts, NAV pricing, manage scrip lending activities and maintain service level agreements with various stakeholders. This role will involve collaborating closely with the Head of Operations, Head of Business Enablement, Portfolio managers, fund administrators, Trustees and Custodians, and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and compliance with regulations. This role will be vital in implementing and maintaining internal controls, identifying process improvements, and supporting new product implementation and development.

Key Responsibilities

 

Day-to-Day Operations: In collaboration with the operations team, perform and manage daily operations of Manco ETF and unit trust activities, including monitoring funds, transaction processing, and addressing operational queries.

 

Investment Operations: Review portfolio accounts, management and oversight of valuations and pricing functions, and oversee scrip lending activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

 

Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including portfolio managers, fund administrators, Trustees and custodians and liability platforms.

 

Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Manage multiple SLAs with various stakeholders to ensure service delivery standards are met and maintained.

 

Reporting: Prepare and/or review external reports such as Minimum Disclosure Documents (MDDs), Total Expense Ratio (TER) reports, and website reporting to meet regulatory and client requirements.

 

Compliance and Audit Support: Assist the operations team with the preparation of operational and compliance reports and audits, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

 

Process Improvement: Implement and maintain internal controls, identify opportunities for process improvements, and collaborate with the Head of Business Enablement and Head of Operations to enhance operational efficiency.

 

New Product Implementation: Support the implementation and development of new products, as well as the maintenance of existing products, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support and assist other functions and teams within the Manco and Platform business, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing. Streamline investment operations for ETFs, UTs and other index funds in collaboration with the central operational function and Satrix Chief Technology Officer.

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Tertiary Qualification in a relevant field.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant operations experience within the financial services industry.

  • Experience in CIS (ETF & unit trust), FAIS, LISPs, and other client-facing platforms is beneficial.
