Purpose of this role

The Product Support Specialist will ensure that all communication and operational processes within Sanlam Umbrella Solutions adhere to regulatory requirements, internal governance standards, and brand guidelines. The role involves managing compliance-related documentation, supporting audits, and driving clear, accurate, and timely communication to stakeholders, including clients, intermediaries, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor and implement regulatory and legislative requirements relevant to Sanlam Umbrella Solutions.
  • Maintain accurate compliance records and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Ensure adherence to Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles and other governance frameworks.
  • Develop and manage client facing and internal communication material in line with brand and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to ensure messaging consistency and accuracy.
  • Manage updates to forms, policy documents, brochures, and digital content.
  • Act as a liaison between compliance, product, and operational teams to ensure alignment.
  • Provide guidance and training on compliance and communication protocols.
  • Prepare compliance reports for management and regulatory bodies.
  • Identify and mitigate communication related risks.

Qualifications and experience

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Compliance, Communications, or Financial Services (or equivalent).  
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in compliance and/or communications within the financial services industry.
  • Experience in retirement funds, umbrella funds, or employee benefits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.).
  • Understanding of the Product would be advantageous.

Knowledge and skills

  • Strong understanding of FSCA regulations, Pension Funds Act, and related legislation.
  • Ability to interpret and apply compliance requirements in practical scenarios.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with digital communication platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team.
