What will you do?

 

Job Purpose 

 

The Finance Consultant will be responsible for the tax reconciliation and payment of local and international products as well as streamlining of processes within Glacier. This role will support business through analysis, implementation and compliance with legislative tax requirements and changes. 

 

Key Outcomes

 

The following outcomes will be expected to be achieved:

 

  • Reconciliation, submission and payment of the following monthly taxes including but not limited to: 
    • Capital gains tax on local and international products.
    • Dividends and interest withholding tax on local products.
    • Third-party AA88 instructions on Retirement Products and Living Annuity Products.
    • Tax reconciliation of products across other jurisdictions
  • Liaise with client services and operations teams regarding reporting queries and issues. 
  • Liaise with internal tax department, SARS and third parties. 
  • Provide feedback to management, internal tax department and operational areas regarding tax reporting requirements. 
  • Accounting and reporting of the products on SAP (GL);
  • Improving current processes and providing input into SARS related projects. 
  • Effective creation of efficiencies and automation within the financial reporting and control environment.
  • Involvement in the audit process (Internal and External), ad-hoc accounting and tax tasks.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • A financial related qualification; with majors in Accounting and Tax being a requirement.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role; preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of endowment products, unit trusts and long-term insurance business; specifically in a LISP environment will be an added advantage.
  • Thorough knowledge of SARS reporting requirements.
  • Computer Skills (MS Word, MS Excel, SAP Financials).

Grade 12 with 2 to 3 years related experience.
