What will you do?
The Junior .NET Developer will be responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of software applications using the .NET framework. This includes assisting in the design, coding, testing, and deployment of web-based and database-driven solutions. The role involves working closely with senior developers and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, contribute to agile development practices, and continuously improve system functionality. The incumbent will gain hands-on experience in software development while building foundational skills in front-end technologies, SQL, and version control systems. This role will be based at the Glacier Head Office in Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the design, development, testing, and deployment of .NET applications.
• Support web-based solutions using modern front-end technologies.
• Participate in database design and development using SQL.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and agile development practices.
What will make you successful in this role?
Required Skills & Experience
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• At least 1 year practical experience (internship, project work, or entry-level role) in a software development environment.
• Proficiency in:
• .NET Framework / .NET Core
• Web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET)
• Database development and SQL
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) is advantageous.
