Sanlam Collective Investments (SCI) 
Sanlam Collective Investments is the registered Collective Investment Scheme (CIS) Management Company for Sanlam and Sanlam Investments. As our MANCO, they expertly manage a platform for unit trusts and hedge funds, such as qualified investor hedge funds and retail investor hedge funds. They are regulated by the FSCA and play a risk management function, overseeing all regulatory reporting and post-trade compliance.

Role Objective

This role is critical to driving our business growth by managing and expanding relationships with SCI co-named partners, identifying and onboarding partners, and ensuring seamless administrative support for all partner-related activities. The ideal candidate will be a proactive relationship manager with a strong ability to balance strategic planning, sales, and operational efficiency. They will be responsible for promoting new business, maintaining existing relationships (internally and externally), and serving as the primary point of contact for assigned partners. Additionally, they will coordinate marketing, sales, and support services to enhance relationships and develop new opportunities. The role also involves resolving moderately complex issues and ensuring high levels of partner satisfaction. Strong interpersonal skills, a sales-driven mindset, and the ability to manage administrative tasks effectively are essential for success in this position.
 

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Growth and Revenue Generation

  • Proactively identify and cultivate new business opportunities to build a robust pipeline of potential clients, initiating impactful conversations that lead to fruitful partnerships.
  • Take ownership of the business development process, demonstrating persuasive negotiation skills to successfully close deals that deliver mutual benefits and drive profitability
  • Collaborate with the internal team to ensure successful onboarding of clients. 
  • Stay informed about industry trends, products, and competitors to remain competitive in the market. 

2. Client Service Excellence and Retention

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships that foster long-term loyalty and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction by consistently delivering on promises, going beyond client expectations, and responding promptly to inquiries and requests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address client needs efficiently and resolve issues swiftly, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with clients to assess their needs, review performance, and identify opportunities for additional support and growth.

3. Operational Efficiency and Compliance

  • Deliver timely monthly and quarterly reports to keep stakeholders updated on partner performance. 
  • Regularly engage with partners to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and policies.
  • Conduct annual Due Diligence process to confirm partner adherence to compliance and operational standards. Identify risks in partner relationships and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Document all partner processes and manage exceptions for clarity and consistency.
  • Guide partners on compliance and operational requirements 
  • Ensure agreements are in place and fund setups align with terms.
  • Collaborate with partners to maximise efficient use of funds and classes.

Qualification and Experience

Degree or Diploma with 6 to 8 years related experience.
