Corporate Facilities Maintenance Officer

What will you do?

The Corporate Facilities Maintenance Officer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the company's facilities. This role involves performing building maintenance tasks, coordinating office moves, liaising with vendors and providing support to the printing room department.

What will make you successful in this role?

Building Maintenance:

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of building systems and basic knowledge on HVAC, plumbing, electrical & general building maintenance
  • Address and resolve maintenance issues promptly
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations

Office Moves:

  • Assist  with office relocations and reconfigurations
  • Coordinate with internal departments to minimize disruption during moves
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of office furniture and equipment

Vendor Coordination:

  • Liaise with external vendors for office setups, alterations, and maintenance services
  • Oversee vendor work to ensure quality and timeliness

Printing Room Assistance:

  • Assist the printing room department with equipment maintenance and supply management

Qualification and Experience

Grade 12 or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in facilities management or a related field is preferred
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role
A valid Namibian Driver’s Licence is a requirement


 

Knowledge and Skills

Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures
Able to read building plans
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
Comfortable working in various environments, including heights and confined spaces
Availability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
Must be available to Travel to branches in the region
Primarily office-based with frequent visits to different company facilities
Interaction with various departments and external vendors
