What will you do?
The purpose of this position is to perform various financial tasks and ensure that all accounting transactions are accurately reflected in the company books.
What will make you successful in this role?
Prepare Annual financial Statements for certain subsidiaries of the SanlamAllianz Namibia Group
Taxation
- Completion and review of annual Income tax returns and calculations
- Preparation and submission of provisional tax payments and Group compliance
- Investigate and reconcile discrepancies at Inland Revenue, including objections
- Monthly review of tax related payments and submissions
- Overall review and control of PAYE returns and reconciliations and monthly submissions
- Managing and assisting of clients’ ITAS queries and investigations
Financial Compliance
- Completion and submission of quarterly and annual reports and returns to the Regulator
- Completion and submission of quarterly balance of survey reports to stakeholders
- Annual submission of Annual Financial Statements to external stakeholders and Regulators
- Completion and submission of quarterly financial reports of retirement annuity product to Group
- Annual preparation and completion of transfer pricing policies
Financial Reporting
- Completion and submission of quarterly Audit Committee reports
- Assist with annual audits (external and internal auditors)
- Preparation of payment of Directors fees and relating correspondence and queries
- Review and approval of third-party (supplier) payments (assist)
- Assist and co-ordinate with annual budgeting process
- Prepare and assist with month end journals (tax and related journals)
- Prepare reconciliations for specified control accounts (tax and related accounts)
Qualification and Experience
School Leaving Certificate and BCompt/Accounting degree in Finance (with Articles)
Minimum 3 years relevant experience in Financial environment (will be an added advantage)
Advance knowledge of VAT and Tax legislation
Knowledge and Skills
Analytical, Accuracy, Accounting Knowledge
Ability to work independently
Microsoft Office (Excel, word); Accounting software i.e. Pastel, SAP etc.
Strong communication skills
Proficient in English (verbal & written) language skills; and/or additional local Namibian language will be a competitive advantage, etc.
