What will you do?

The Risk Specialist is responsible for the assessment, pricing, review, implementation, and administration of Group Risk products for both prospective and existing clients. The role includes the preparation of Group Risk quotations, review of risk rates, analysis of claims and premium experience, implementation of approved risk benefits, and the provision of quality service to clients, brokers, and stakeholders. The incumbent will contribute to business growth, client retention, operational excellence, and the achievement of profitability objectives while ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory, and internal requirements

What will make you successful in this role?

•    Prepare Group Risk quotations for prospective new and existing business.
•    Calculate and evaluate appropriate Group Risk rates based on risk profiles, claims experience, premium history, and other relevant factors.
•    Compile professional quotation and review presentations for clients and intermediaries.
•    Ensure quotations and reviews are completed within agreed service level agreements and turnaround times.
•    Obtain, analyse, and interpret claims, premium, and membership data to perform accurate risk assessments and rate calculations.
•    Investigate and resolve exceptions relating to Group Risk products, pricing, and processes.
•    Maintain accurate records and update systems with revised pricing and scheme information.
•    Complete the implementation of Group Risk benefits at employer level following approval and receipt of acceptance documentation.

Qualification and Experience

•    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
•    Experience in financial services, insurance, employee benefits, risk management, underwriting, or a related environment.
•    Experience in Group Risk administration, pricing, risk analysis, or insurance operations will be advantageous

Knowledge and Skills

Proficient in English (verbal & written) language skills; and/or additional local Namibian language will be a competitive advantage, etc.
MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel & Power point).
Ability to learn and effectively use company-specific systems and software.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to compile reports and maintain records.
Effective problem-solving and query resolution skills.
