Purpose of the Role
As the .NET Developer SC Broker Portal, you will be responsible for the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise-grade software solutions that support insurance and financial services operations. The role involves working within agile, cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing applications in a regulated environment. This role is based in Bellville, Cape Town and forms part of the Sanlam Corporate IT business unit. This role reports to the Platform Owner of SC IT.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using the Microsoft .NET technology stack.
- Build and support web-based and service-oriented applications.
- Translate business and functional requirements into technical solutions.
- Integrate applications using APIs and web services.
- Support production systems and resolve defects.
- Adhere to SDLC, DevOps, security, and governance standards.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- A minimum of 2 - 5 years of hands-on .net development experience, ideally within the insurance industry (with a preference for experience in Employee Benefits)
- 2 or more years of experience working in an agile environment, demonstrating expertise in agile methodologies and collaborative team dynamic
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong experience in C# and .NET / .NET Core development
- Knowledge in cloud technology like AWS.
- Exposure to Containers.
- Experience with ASP.NET, MVC, and Web API.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles.
- Experience with SQL Server and relational databases.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and source control systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.
- Exposure to microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience within insurance or financial services.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.
