Job Opportunity
This exciting opportunity is available in our Broker Services Business unit based at Head Office in Cape Town to fulfil a Communications Specialist role.
The Communication Specialist will be responsible to develop a comprehensive communication plan for brokers which aligns with the SBS and Claims Strategy, supported by Santam's Customer Experience (CX) initiative.
Job Description
- In support of the brand strategy, create and implement simplified, effective and fit-for-purpose communication plans that meet broker and business needs.
- Curate content that stands out amidst the noise, both in terms of language and design.
- Maximise opportunities to drive communication strategies to deliver the right message to the right target audience, using the right communication channel/s
- Conduct communication audits to measure achievement of objectives, including providing reporting on open rate and click rate on all the broker comms from Everlytic
- Support and advise SBS divisions in their communication efforts to Brokers (communication action plans).
- Form communication partner for cross-function teams within Marketing and Corporate Communication to plan for delivery of communication services.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders (eg) Exco, Client excellence Board, Marketing, Communications, and Business Units
- Engage and manage a range of suppliers, where appropriate, to help deliver the communications agenda
- Collaboration with Commercial Underwriting to ensure that underwriting circulars are easy to understand, professional and meet all our CI (corporate image) requirements
- Communicate the benefits of using online tools i.e. Broker portal, App, calculators, etc.
- Align broker communications with content marketing themes and blog articles.
- Repurpose PR articles into broker communications and assist in distributing newsletters via Everlytic.
Qualifications
- Relevant Qualification in Communication/similar
Experience
- Experience in editing, summarising and rewriting copy
- At least 6 years’ communication experience, including journalistic/writing experience as well as experience in a corporate communication environment
- Crisis management experience
- Experience working with digital/social media
- Experience in developing and executing successful communications plans directed towards multiple stakeholders
- Abreast of current communications trends
Knowledge
- In depth knowledge of the media industry and financial services industry
- Good understanding of the South African media landscape
- Computer literate (MS Office package)
- Writing and editing knowledge
- Have an interest in current affairs
