Java Developer (Mid)

CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Santam Technology Services (STS) has a career opportunity for an intermediate Java Developer in the SantamRe / Business Delivery department which will be based in the Western Cape or Gauteng.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java / React applications.
• Write clean, testable, and efficient code.
• Develop and implement RESTful APIs and web services.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
• Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, including testing.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and standards
• Prepare and produce release documents for software migration to production.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ java development experience
• Solid experience in Spring Boot, ReactJS, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
• Experience with JUnit, Apache Maven, Hibernate ORM.
• Agile methodology (SCRUM, Kanban).

SKILLS

• Strong SQL skills.
• Proficient in common design patterns and Object-Oriented Development (OOD).
• Knowledge of JSON, XML, JWT.
• Exposure to Atlassian tools (JIRA, Bamboo, Confluence).
• Knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes and Docker is advantageous.
