Santam Broker Solutions: Operations-Business Support has a position available for a Operations Communication & Alignment Specialist position to be based in Hill on Empire, Parktown, reporting to the Head: Business Support.
What will you do?
The Operations Communication & Alignment Specialist will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic internal communications and business-related messaging for contact center and all departments within Operations and the rest of the organization. This role aims to ensure that employees are well-informed, engaged, and aligned with business objectives, fostering a culture of clear communication across the organization. The specialist will create compelling content, manage communication channels, and support leadership in maintaining consistency and clarity in messages delivered to internal audiences, ensuring they are informed and motivated to achieve business goals.
What will make you successful in this role?
- Enable tactical delivery of communication plans, ensuring effective implementation across departments, especially the contact center;
- Draft, edit, and manage internal communications (e.g., newsletters, memos, infographics) and collaborate with corporate comms and the SBS comms specialist around external communication;
- Develop training infographics to ensure staff are well informed;
- Respond to inquiries, providing clear and accurate answers while ensuring alignment with organizational goals;
- Develop communication strategies: This individual will collaborate with SBS comms specialist around the communications strategies for Operations Specifically. Create and execute effective communication strategies to enhance Operations brand awareness; Executing communication plans, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery;
- Advise departments in creating tailored communication action plans to address business needs and initiatives;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Marketing and the SBS comms specialist to plan and deliver communication services;
- Collaborate and align communications with the SBS Comms specialist to maintain consistent messaging and visual identity;
- Conduct communication audits in Operations to evaluate and measure the effectiveness of communication initiatives;
- Manage communication with the contact center and other departments, ensuring clear and timely information flow;
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, ensuring communication efforts meet their needs;
- Assist Marketing and the SBS communications specialist in identifying efficient communication methods tailored to specific audience segments;
- Support internal communication strategies to engage employees and foster alignment with organizational goals;
- Analyze communication metrics to refine strategies and ensure efforts meet business objectives and drive engagement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant Qualification in Communications, Journalism/similar;
- At least 4 years’ internal or external communication experience, including journalistic/writing experience as well as experience in a corporate communication environment;
- Crisis management experience;
- Experience in writing, compiling content and editing copy for clarity and impact;
- Experience working with digital platforms/social media;
- Experience in developing and executing successful communications plans directed towards multiple stakeholders;
- Abreast of current communications trends, web design, copywriting and editing.

- In depth knowledge of the media industry and financial services industry;
- Good understanding of the South African media landscape;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other digital tools;
- Self-motivated and able to work independently;
- Have an interest in current affairs;
- Business and commercial acumen;
- Operational contact centre experience.
