Santam’s Claims Business Enablement and Innovation  department has a position available for a Junior Knowledge Analyst based in Santam West End Office Park, Centurion.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

The successful incumbent will be responsible for providing best practice functional expertise and insights to guide, inform and support Santam Management decision-making and strategic focus to be future fit as well as improving Santam’s operational effectiveness and maintaining operational and claims cost. Furthermore, they will develop and deliver customized knowledge assets, intellectual capacity and expert advice as well as research next generation insurance indemnification solutions by scanning the technology and insurance landscape. Moreover, the incumbent will also identify new business opportunities to improve the claims indemnification experience of the client / broker as well as promote an agenda of knowledge-led decision making.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE?

•    Identifying, developing and creating new innovative claims indemnification solutions that are ready for the 4th Industrial Revolution within the claim’s operational environment.
•    Building and Testing Proof of Concepts (POC):
o    Designing concept demonstrators
o    Testing the outcomes 
o    Implementing these in business where successful and applicable
•    Developing efficient and innovative methodologies and solutions by means of digitization and automation.
•    Collecting, analyzing and presenting relevant information and industry trends to enable level 3 and 4 management to make informed decisions.
•    Supporting the business by providing information and recommendations to guide strategies, projects and business processes
•    Effective documentation of findings, including accurately writing up findings and obtaining business sign-off
•    Managing relationships with internal and external business partners.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

•    Matric;
•    B Engineering / BSC Engineering (Industrial / Software / Computer Engineering preferable)
•    1 - 2 years’ relevant experience in the following:
o    Performing data analysis & generating data visualizations.
o    Working as a knowledge analyst (a plus)
o    Relevant industry experience (a plus)
o    Independently managing and engaging relevant stakeholders
o    Low code / no code programming. (Full stack development a plus).
o    Working with APIs (a plus

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 

•    Solid problem-solving capabilities, intellectual curiosity and effective prioritization
•    Creative mind (able to think out of the box)
•    Proficient with programming languages used for front end dev & data manipulation. (Full stack development a plus).
•    Basic understanding of research techniques, info sources, statistical analysis/techniques.
•    Strong analytical & quantitative skills
•    Proficiency with MS Office programs
•    Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Qlik) would be an added asset
•    Basic programming capabilities such as R, Python will be an added asset.
•    Business acumen: Enterprising & commercial thinking:
•    Keeps aware of corporate markets and the state of competitors, identifies business opportunities, and views issues in terms of costs, profits, markets and added value.
•    Proven ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders on analytics solutions and insights 
•    The ability to function at a strategic level and to communicate at senior management level;
