Santam is looking for a passionate, agile and innovative individual for a position within the Group Treasury department based in the Sandton office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the front office and back-office operations.
Purpose of the Role
Oversees treasury operations and ensures effective cash, liquidity, and risk management. Manages treasury teams, banking relationships, and supports strategic financial planning and compliance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Treasury operational activities/processes for the Santam Group related to:
Funding and liquidity management
Foreign Currency dealing and management
Manage Backoffice operational payments processes and cross border flows
SARB Exchange Control Regulatory and Compliance procedures
Overview of Role Responsibilities (Level 1-13)
Treasury- Level 8 - Innovation
Develop and deliver operational plans for a unit or division in line with the overall treasury strategy.
Organizational Risk Management- Level 7 - Optimisation
Develop and/or deliver a contingency plan for significant aspects of the risk management and/or risk control processes.
Leadership and Direction- Level 7 - Optimisation
Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these and to do extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.
Performance Management- Level 7 - Optimisation
Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives.

General Experience
Minimum 10 years’ experience within Treasury environment at a multinational corporate
Sound understanding and advanced working knowledge of global markets e.g. financial instruments and liquidity management
Sound understanding and working knowledge of transactional banking and investments
Practical experience working with Treasury Management Systems (ie TMS)
Managerial Experience
Minimum of 5 years in a Treasury leadership role
Education
