What will you do?

Santam’s Finance Solutions IT Team is looking for a Senior JDE ERP Development Team Lead in our Finance Claims team, the position will be based at the Head Office in Bellville.
The incumbent will work within the Finance Solutions JD Edwards (JDE) team and will be responsible for the JDE integrations and components that support the Claims Procure-to-Pay processes. In depth knowledge of the JDE Procurement and Accounts Payable modules is required as well as strong integration and JDE development skills.
The successful candidate will lead a team of Senior JDE Developers.
• Understands how the business requirements can be met using the JDE ERP solution
• Leads the development and configuration of JDE software to address business needs
• Advises business within Claims domain and involved in the provision of cost estimates
• Ensuring that solution design strives to prevent any customisation of JDE standard applications
• Assessment of the impact of application changes and new releases on existing processes
• Develop and support integrations to and from JDE making use of SOAP and JDE Orchestrations
• Work as a team member with Development Managers and other technical staff, to ensure applications are implemented according to requirements.
• Responsible for developing staff within own team

Generic Functions

• Ensure that the Financial Systems solutions are aligned to Finance ERP best practise and Santam architecture strategies in support of Santam Strategies
• Provide advice and consultancy across the project team on the above strategies and architecture
• Participate in reviews and provide guidance to team to ensure that architecture principles are followed and strategies are supported
• Establish and participate in design reviews and technical issue management meetings
• Ensure that design is optimised for use on the organisations infrastructure
• Provide support to members of the Development Team
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the internal workings of the JDE ERP solution
• Participate in the leadership team within the Finance Solutions JDE team and contribute to an optimal team environment
Quality Assurance
• Review agreed implementation to ensure correct interpretation of the requirements,  architecture and strategies
• Ensure there is adequate end to end testing of configuration or bespoke development.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure best practice development strategies are followed

What will make you successful in this role?

Relevant Tertiary IT qualification or qualification through experience
• At least 15 years’ JDE development experience
• At least 15 years JDE System configuration
• Expert Knowledge of JDE
• Exposure to Object Oriented design and Java development
• Experience in application development, support and release management
• Experience in integration protocols – SOAP and API
• Experience in systems development upper life cycle quality assurance
• Application of IT governance principles

• JDE Development Tools, C, Java, BSSV, REST API, Orchestration
• Troubleshoot and resolve software, and integration problems
• Santam implemented hardware, software and operating systems a benefit

• Excellent in verbal and writing communication and strong presentation skills
