CAREER OPPORTUNITY

The main purpose of this position is to assist and support the Marketers (Sales and Underwriting) at the Johannesburg branch.

Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this role is to provide a workplace development opportunity for an aspiring insurance professional to gain practical experience in underwriting and sales within the Construction and Engineering insurance sector. The incumbent will receive structured exposure, training, and on-the-job learning across key functions to develop the skills, knowledge, and competencies required for a successful career in this specialised field.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE?

Underwriting assistance as the candidate progresses through the development plan to then assist with:

•    Issuing quotations within the agreed mandate 
•    Assist the Current Broker to increase business growth 
•    Educate current brokers on engineering insurance products 
•    Maintain Current Broker relationship 
•    Solving queries on instructions between various departments and from brokers
•    Provide renewal review and terms assistance to the Administration department team.
•    Portfolio premium growth and loss ratio management  
•    Search and recruit new Broker relationships in the market 
•    PowerPoint presentation preparation
•    Material Preparation for training functions
•    Research for Marketing Presentations
•    Team coordination within the marketing department

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

•    Matric
•    Engineering Degree or Business-related degree
•    Valid driver’s license
•    Must have at least 1 year of working experience.
