Santam Namibia has a vacancy for an Accounts Clerk in the Finance department who will be based in Windhoek.

What will you do?

The Accounts Clerk is responsible for responsible for receipt of payments received, Daily Bank Reconciliations and Agency Maintenance.

What will make you successful in this role?

The candidate will be expected to perform (but not limited to) the following duties:

• Daily Allocation of funds received;
• Administer a portfolio of Brokers and Agents ensuring that allocations are done timeously and assist with queries as they may arise;
• Intermediary Maintenance on different platforms;
• Ensure that Internal Controls are adhere to and accurate allocations are processed;
• Perform Bank Reconciliations monthly and unallocated items are resolved;
• Weekly financial reporting to management;
• Management of relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 with accounting & mathematics;
• Financial qualification would be beneficial;
• 3 years’ Accounts Payable experience;
• Computer literate (MS Office package);
• Experience or working on relevant financial package;
• JD Edwards (recommended);
• Accounts payable knowledge.
• Claims background will be an advantage;
• The ability to communicate effectively and fluently in Afrikaans and English.
