A career opportunity is available for a Claims Service Consultant in the Santam Namibia Claims Services department. This position will be based in Windhoek, Namibia.

What will you do?

The Claims Service Consultants will efficiently manage and settle desktop personal and commercial lines of business claims within delegated authority, ensuring excellent customer service, accuracy, and compliance with company procedures and policy conditions. 

What will make you successful in this role?

The candidate will be expected to perform (but not limited to) the following duties:

• Ensure claims are complete and all required documentation is received from clients;
• Confirm premiums and policy cover;
• Verify critical documentation and ensure accurate uploading onto the claims system;
• Ensure estimates and claim cause codes are correct;
• Negotiate fair claim settlements with clients;
• Ensure all administrative tasks are completed timeously;
• Ensure claims payments are accurate and processed within agreed turnaround times in timeously manner.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 22 points in Grade 11 (new curriculum) or 12 (old curriculum);
• Relevant Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Insurance or similar;
• Computer literate with intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a short-term insurance claims environment (advantageous);
• Namibian citizenship;
• Ability to communicate effectively in both Afrikaans and English.

Foreign qualifications must be submitted with an evaluation report from the Namibia Qualification Authority (NQA).
